Queer in 2022
This July, we launch our Rolodex of QTFP, with full open (free!) member enrollment. This project began as my Master’s thesis at the Akedemie of Mode & Design in Berlin, Germany. As it moves into the wider world, it relies on community engagement to continue its growth.
Queer communities grow like mycilia; everyone knows someone (and everyone know’s someone’s ex). Our spiderweb-shaped network is what what has connected us for centuries as we navigate the undergound of a cis-hetero world. Here, we plan to keep our autonomy from ‘straight’ fashion systems, while generating visibility and collaboration. This is our call to action: shop from queer and trans designers! Hire queer and trans talent!
This project is designed in particular to celebrate those of us who are working on the margins, with a particular focus on trans, non-binary, two-spirit, and gender fluid individuals.
